It’s home to Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham New Street station is a major transport hub and High Speed Two (HS2) is in development.

- Keep a car emergency kit - include a first aid kit, blankets, torch, bottled water and food.
- Check before you travel - TV, radio, apps, internet.
- Think how to contact your family or friends if affected - know who to ask for assistance.
- Consider alternative methods of transport - bus, bike, train or tram.
