Walsall has a population of 253,499, with 6.48% being under the age of 5 and 21.64% over 60.86% of the population is whit and 10% from Indian / Pakistani / Bangladeshi communities. There are apporoximately 105,500 households with nearly 65% being owner occupied.

It has the potential to flood with approximately 700 homes in Bescott and 30 in the Form brook area protected by flood defences.

Walsall forms part of the M6 corridor and is on the flight path in to Birmingham Intenational Airport
