British Transport Police is the specialist, national police service for Britain’ s railways. BTP deals with major and minor crime, disorder and incidents, and covers the rail system in England , Wales and Scotland , including London Underground, Docklands Light Railway and the Midland Metro and Croydon Tramlink systems. Its 2,800 police officers, 200 Police Community Support Officers, 260 Special Constables and 1,200 support staff are recruited and trained like those of local forces and have the same powers. The Wales and Western Area of British Transport Police covers the National Rail system in Wales , the Midlands and south west England , as well as the Midland Metro. It employs 300 police officers, 34 Police Community Support Officers, 15 Special Constables and 94 police staff. West Midlands Fire Service

West Midlands Fire Service covers the seven Metropolitan districts of the region - Birmingham, Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Coventry and Solihull. It is run under the command of the Chief Fire Officer and his principal command team and provides emergency response from 40 strategically located fire stations, employing approximately 2,500 firefighters.
